Pinamar is an exclusive beach city of the Argentine coast located 340 kilometers awayfron Buenos Aires. Its beaches are wide and the city is wooded and fresh. During the high season - January and February - the top companies of the moment, such as manofacturers of cell phones, sportswear and drinks, anchor on this beach and monopolize the beachside resorts with their promotions.The summer promotions are so common in this city that some companies even have there own resort, where they offer a large variety of services related to their products: from spa treatments and massages in order to "have a relaxed summer", to Cooking workshops in charge of well-known chefs. Other offer Jacuzzis, wi-fi connecton for those that cannot get rid of their computers even on holidays, and Kid?s Club with activities for the children. Buenos Aires?main FM radio stations take their mobile studios to these bezhes and organiza several music, fashion and extreme sports festivals, witch incluide surf, windsurf, kite surf, skate, bike and wakeboard. Pinamar was inaugurated as a beach city in 1943, the same year as the Playas Hotel, which was the first hotel which nowadays is still running, although with some refurbishment. The main avenue is a very long stretch, Bunge Avenue, with curve streets that cross it up and down in between the dunes covered with pines.Pinamar?s center is active and in the last couple of years it has extended itself. There are about 200 new properties, which include brand new apart-hotels and duplex apartaments...If you get a few blocks away from the commercial area, you will inmediately find yourself walking along sand streets, with large houses and colorul gardens. On De las Acacias and Del Libertador Ave. lies the Nuestra Señora de la Paz Church, a Tuscan style chapel designed by architec Jorge Bunge, founder and designer of this beach city together with Valeria Guerrero, who gave out the lands. The 4.5 kilometers long Del Mar Ave. makes up the sea front of Pinamar, with numerous building and an intense traffic during the summer. Towards the south, there is a fisherman?s wharf on Del Mar Ave. and Eolo and to the north, there is an area of fashion resorts, with good restaurants which are open during high season. Towards the end of this long avenue, La Frontera, the most remote and rough lodge, is of drive-in style and four-wheelers. In January, more than 1500 4x4 vehicles reach thesea shores, each with its own music and in its own world. In this area and in others near Pinamar there are still virgin dunes to go up and down with four-lasts until dawn. wheelers or on board of a gigantic truck prepared for the sand. Another option is to practice sand board or quickly slide down the dunes with a wooden board. Those who do not have a board can rent it by the hour or for the day, in different spots of the city. However, the only way to get to these dunes is by four-wheelers or specially prepared vehicles. You can also hire a tour. Golf is a classic in this beach city and the Golf Links Pinamar, atrademark, offers top level coursers, which are located only a few blocks away fron the center and are open from very early in the morning until the sun goes down. After the sports and beach, Pinamar always has something else to offer. Music perfomances, exhibitions, artsans?fairs, concerts and shopping walkways are some of the proposals. The Torre Municipal Theater stands out with varied programs for adults and children, which include musical shows, and plays; also, El Ojo de las Artes, a bar with cinema debates, shows and cafe concert, together with the Victor magariños House-Museum (Libertador between Picaflores and Odisea), where the work of the plastic artist can be appreciated. The downtown area also has movie theaters and art galleries which complete the cultural tour. For later at night, the city offers pre-dance bars and night-club complexes, where the music last until dawn. Very close to Pinamar, Carilo is another exclusive beach of the Atlantic coast. This 1700 hectares wood was forested at the beginning of the XX century and it jealously preserves its quiet, low houses and sand strets, named after trees and birds. The area is so well cared for that it looks like a private neighborhood. With more than fifty hotels, inns and apart-hotels, it has an excellent tourist infrastruture, with splendid summer residences and a commercial center located beneath the trees?shadow.
Recreation in Carilo Pinamar
Pinamar is one of the most important tourist destinations of the Atlantic Coast. Situated 340 km from Buenos Aires, each location of the county offers huge possibilities to practise recreational activities and to relax. Through the city tour, tourists can discover all the attractions that these picturesque locations offer.Next to the sea and the centre, and along streets whose names are related with Greek Mythology and have houses of the 40?s, are the old pines and eucalyptus. In this historic area is the first hotel that keeps exactly the same white brick façade of its early years, the first water tank, the Pioneers Monument and the Arch Bunge Square. Just two blocks from it, there is the shopping area, where people can go window shopping, buy clothes and handmade objects, or go to restaurants, coffee shops and tearooms. At the roundabout of Bunge Ave. and Libertador Ave. there is a new fountain. Going to the beach, at the last roundabout, there is the "Drawing Spaces Sculpture". It was unveiled on December 17, 2007 and it was totally built of stainless steel. This sculpture is formed by two superimposed shapes that rotate by the force of the winds over an axis. It is also in recognition to the pioneers of our city. Ostende is the oldest location of the county. It was founded in 1913 by two Belgium pioneers, Fernando Robette and Agustín Poli. Its historic heritage is formed by the "Old Ostende Hotel (1914)", Mr. Robette?s House (1912) and The Old Esplanade (1912). ("Heritage Circuit of Ostende"). In 1935, Dr. Arturo Frondizi, the former Argentinian President, inaugurated "La Elenita", a little wooden house located on the beach, where he used to spend the summer holidays with his family. ("Valeria del Mar and Cariló Forest Circuit"). Valeria del Mar is an ideal location for families, which has had tremendous growth. Wide beaches, groves of tamarisk, acacia and pine forests, picturesque houses and a shopping center, along the Avenida Espora, the main access to the site from Route 11. Cariló is a true paradise consisting of a large forest that coexists harmoniously with the sea. Pinamar has a variety of events throughout the year, those that are recognized by tourists and residents.
